Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data OddsNotifier collects, why, who processes it for us, and the rights you have over it. It covers oddsnotifier.io, app.oddsnotifier.io and our Telegram bots.

Who we are

OddsNotifier, a company based in Norway, is the data controller for the processing described here. For anything related to your data, email hello@oddsnotifier.io.

OddsNotifier is a sports data and analytics service for users aged 18 or over. We do not provide gambling services and do not accept or place bets. See Responsible gambling.

What we collect and why

For each purpose we name the legal basis under the GDPR in brackets.

  • Account data (contract). Sign-in is handled by Kinde, our authentication provider, including when you sign in with Google. We receive your account id, email address and name, and use them to run your account and subscription.
  • Telegram data (contract). Alerts are delivered through Telegram. When you connect Telegram we store your Telegram user id and username, the groups or channels you add our bots to, and your alert settings such as leagues, markets and bookmakers, so we can send you the alerts you asked for and check that your subscription covers them.
  • Subscription and payment data (contract and legal obligation). Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details never reach our servers; we receive your subscription status, plan, billing country and payment history. At checkout Stripe collects your billing address and, if you buy for a business, your VAT or tax number and legal business name. Stripe uses them to work out whether VAT applies and at what rate, and we use them on invoices and for tax reporting. They are stored with your Stripe customer record for as long as tax law requires us to keep invoices (five years under Norwegian bookkeeping rules), after which they are deleted with it.
  • Free-trial eligibility (legitimate interest). To stop free trials being claimed repeatedly, we keep a record of trials started, linked to your email address, account id and a card fingerprint and card country supplied by Stripe. A card fingerprint identifies a card without revealing its number.
  • Support conversations (contract). If you contact us through the support chat or help centre, Featurebase stores your messages and, if you give it, your email address.
  • AI assistant (contract). Messages you send to our AI bot on Telegram are processed by Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
  • Referrals (legitimate interest). If you arrive through a link from our partner programme, Dub sets a first-party cookie holding a click id (and, where the partner offers one, the discount you are entitled to) for 90 days, so the partner who referred you can be credited when you subscribe. Dub receives the click, your signup and the amount of your payments, nothing else. You can clear the cookie at any time; doing so only means the partner is not credited.
  • Usage analytics (legitimate interest). We use Plausible Analytics, an EU-based analytics service that sets no cookies and collects no personal data. We only see aggregate page statistics.
  • Service emails (contract) and product updates (legitimate interest). We email you about your account and subscription. We may also send occasional product updates; each one has an unsubscribe link.
  • Technical logs (legitimate interest). Server logs, including IP addresses, are kept briefly to keep the service secure and available and to prevent abuse.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising or cross-site trackers, and we do not share your data with bookmakers. We make no automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Cookies

We set cookies that are strictly necessary for signing in and keeping your session secure (provided by Kinde), and a referral cookie (Dub, 90 days) only when you arrive through a partner link. Our analytics is cookie-free, and we set no advertising cookies.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers under data processing agreements: Vercel (website hosting), DigitalOcean and Railway (application and database hosting; our databases are in the EU), Kinde (authentication), Stripe (payments), Featurebase (customer support), Anthropic (AI assistant), Dub (partner referrals), Plausible (analytics, EU) and Sanity (blog content; no personal data).

Telegram delivers our alerts and processes your messages under its own privacy policy as an independent controller. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep data

  • Account, Telegram and alert data: while your account is active, and deleted on request.
  • Payment records: for as long as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires, currently five years.
  • Free-trial records: for as long as needed to prevent repeat trials.
  • Support conversations: while needed to help you, and deleted on request.
  • Technical logs: expire automatically within days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@oddsnotifier.io and we will reply within one month.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Norway that is Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no); you can also contact the authority where you live.

Age

OddsNotifier is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above, and for significant changes we will tell account holders by email.
